50for50 is still going strong, so strong I’m delayed in blogging. So I take you back to my springtime Superbloom 2019 adventures, a road trip south to see as many wildflowers as I could find.

The frost and fire of Iceland in February blew us away with its natural wonders and beauty.

The charm of Cuba’s cobblestone roads, antique cars, painted houses, and friendly people can’t wash away a feeling of adversity I felt hanging in the air during my eight-day stay.

Continuing my 50for50 adventures, I head to southern Spain to join my childhood friend Tina and her wonderful husband Julio in Córdoba, Sevilla, and of course Grenada for an Alhambra tour. ¡Olé!

Twelve women and our intrepid tour guide whirled around Morocco, with the country enchanting us all from the blue city of Chefchaouen to the fascinating Fez medina, on to a sublime camel ride and night in the desert, right up to our bittersweet goodbyes in Marrakech.

Do you believe in “no pain, no gain” and “nothing worth having comes easy”? I make my case for why I believe these are myths and why living easefully may not be as highly regarded or respected.

#10 and #11 on my #50for50 list were local adventures I’d been meaning to do for years: a San Francisco tiki bar crawl and boat ride out to the Farallon Islands. Both were great thanks to the exceptional company of friends from Portland and across the Bay Area.

My 50 for 50 adventures continue though I’m a bit behind on posts! Kauai taught me to embody aloha spirit across the island in a helicopter, on a boat, by foot on muddy but beautiful hikes, and on gorgeous beaches. #6 (helicopter ride), #7 (Na Pali coast), #8 (Secret Beach), and #9 (Waimea Canyon) were pretty spectacular experiences.
